Yoga has truly awakened me in my evolutionary journey and continues to show me my true potential as a person and practitioner. It's as difficult to say what style I teach as to ask what kind of food I like. I have had so many beautiful influences and teachers (e.g. Jami Larson, Jennifer Ellen Mueller, Sarah Tomson-Beyer, Shiva Rea, Simon Park, Dharma Mittra, Shannon Paige-Schneider,etc.) and they have all unlocked something different in me to bring me to where I am at in my teaching today. With that said, change is a part of the path and so I continue to evolve and transform. Primarily, though, I enjoy teaching in a creative Vinyasa Flow style which can be described as a series of fluid, flowing postures linked with the breath to strengthen, stretch and detoxify the body. I like to encourage my students to follow their inherent rhythm and let their breath be the catalyst for movement. I play music that M.O.V.E.S, beginning with deep cuts for letting go the need to control and perfect and finishing with serene inspiring tunes that nourish and heal. I also ask that students acknowledge that what we do is practice and not performance. There is no age limit, no perfect body shape, no required degree of flexibility. What is essential is that you take time to listen to your body, explore, experiment and perhaps even...dare I say it...SMILE.
No two classes are ever the same and I strive to teach a well rounded class that includes all aspects of yoga, not just the physical. See you in the Flow!
