Guidelines

Arrive 15 minutes early and check in at the front desk. All new students are required to sign a waiver. If you are late, please wait to enter the studio until after the oms have been chanted and once students have started moving. Enter the room very quietly so you do not disturb the class. Strive not to be late. It is important to complete the whole yoga class for your well-being, commitment to your practice, and respect for the teacher and community.

Ahimsa:
A Sanskrit word meaning non-violence. Do no harm in thought, word, or deed. Treat everyone including managers, teachers, and other students with kindness, compassion, and respect. Practice yoga without harming your body; don't force any movements.

Satya:
A Sanskrit word meaning truthfulness. Be honest in all of your communications. Inform the instructor of any ongoing injuries, pain, pregnancy, or medical conditions before the start of class.

Saucha:
A Sanskrit word meaning order, tidiness, or cleanliness. Please come to class clean; wear light comfortable attire such as tank top & leggings and avoid the use of heavy perfumes & scents. Yoga is best practiced on an empty belly; do not eat much 2 hours prior to taking a class. If you have your own yoga mat please bring it to class. If not, we have mats you can borrow or purchase. As soon as you come in, place your shoes in the shoe bench or just in front of it if it is full. Hang your coat on the hooks provided. All other personal belongings should be placed in the cubbies.

Cell phones/valuables: Please do not use cell phones in the yoga studio. Please leave your cell phone in the car or in your bag and make sure it is turned off. We suggest that you do not bring any valuables into the yoga studio as Laughing Lotus is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Don't forget to relax, have fun & breathe!
